Sleep Training with Rose Calderone Wed, Feb 3, 2010, 7:00 pm Rose Calderone studied Early Childhood Education at Hillsdale College, and graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Communication Arts and Education. Rose has assisted &/or taught pre-school, Kindergarten and 5th grade. A passion for working with children brought Rose back to Chicago in 1999 to work as a nanny. After 3 years of working as a nanny in high demand, she took her first night-nanny assignment and fell in love with this work. In 2002, she started Hush-a-bye Baby as a day placementand night-nanny agency, specializing in singletons and twins. In the years that followed, she discovered that she had a gift for getting singletons to sleep through the night by 3 months, and twins by 4 months. She defines through the night as 10-12 hours (with no bottles, pacifiers, waking or crying it out). Rose now concentrates her energies on mentoring both nannies and parents to sleep train babies. In the past few years she worked with may of our own sleep-deprived MOMs, with wonderful success. Rose has come to know that babies need sleep for many reasons, and fortunately, there are effective ways to help them get sleep. She also recognizes that in order for us to be the best moms possible, we too, need our sleep. At this meeting we will also talk about toddler
sleep issues and have an informal “roundtable” discussion
about getting older ones to get the sleep they need.

We are planning to host a presentation by Dr. Thomas Phelan, author of 123 Magic and several other books, on March 3rd, 2010. At this seminar, you will learn: You can read up on Dr. Phelan’s philosophies in advance by checking out his website, www.parentmagic.com. Discounted copies of his books will be available for sale at the meeting. An evite will be sent at the beginning of February so that all members and their guests can register for this event. Cost is $10 per person--husbands, grandparents, nannies, friends and neighbors are all welcome! Please specify the number of people you are bringing in your evite response and list their names. Reminder: We’ll be conducting a “Hanger Swap” at the February and March MOMs meeting. If you have any extra hangers that you’d like to donate to our sellers, please drop them off at this meeting. If you plan on being a seller at the next resale and need hangers for your clothing items, feel free to take any of the donated hangers. Also, please help us spread the word! Post the
resale flyers in high “mom traffic” areas, and be sure
to email your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and anyone
